La cosecha de agosto (August's crop)

Esta es la época del año en la que la huerta te da más alegrías, sólo con ver las plantas ya ves que el trabajo anterior ha merecido la pena. En un mes las plantas han crecido muchísimo y puedes ver tomateras de más de 2 metros, eso por no hablar de los calabacines y el tamaño de sus hojas.
This is the best time of the year when you realise that all the work you've put in the vegetable garden is worth the efort . In only one month the plants have grown a lot and you can see tomatoe plants more than 2 meters high, not to mention the courgettes and the size of its leaves.

Hoy quiero mostrar como va la cosecha por el huerto. Aunque los tomates se han hecho de rogar (excepto los cherry que ya llevo varias semanas comiéndolos)  ya estoy  recogiendo los primeros frutos, y estos no me han defraudado, tienen un sabor riquísimo. Los calabacines siguen saliendo enormes y con pocas pepitas ¿Qué más se puede pedir?  De los pimientos de Padrón sólo tengo que decir que están muy ricos, pero que pican casi todos y mucho.  Los he recogido un poco más grandes de lo que debía y creo que por eso pican tanto.
Today I want to show you how the crop is going. Althow I have had to wait for the tomatoes (except for the cherry variety which I've been eating for several weeks) I'm now collecting the first ones and they are absolutely delicious. The courgettes are enormous and with small seads, what else can I ask for?. I must admit that the peppers of Padron are delicious but are all very hot. I have probably collected them too late and thats the reason why they are that hot. 

Esta fotografía la hice un día después de una tormenta de verano, aprovechando que salió el sol. Creo que es el momento en que el verde de las plantas está más realzado.
This picture is taken when the sun came out after a summer storm. This is when the leaves are greener.

Los pepinos que estoy cosechando tienen muy buen sabor, y como no dejo que se hagan muy grandes nos los podemos comer sin pelar ya que están muy tiernos.
the cucumbers I'm collecting are delicious. I don't let them grow very much and are so tender, we can eat them without pealing them.
